registration for

new and existing u16/u19 players

Welcome back to our existing players and to those joining us for the first time – welcome! We’re glad you’ve decided to join us at Swindon Storm. The procedure for joining the club is straightforward and this page contains all the information you need to make joining us simple.

New players

All new players get three free sessions, after which you will need to:

  • Register with the club
  • Register with BAFA
  • Pay club subscription
  • Read and agree to parent and player codes of conduct

Existing players

At the start of each season all players are required to:

  • Re-register with the club
  • Ensure BAFA registration is current
  • Pay club subscription
Step 1

Register with the club

Club registration is an essential first step for both new and existing players. Each year, the British American Football Association (BAFA) mandates that teams submit a list of their registered players. This is crucial for verifying that teams meet the minimum player requirements, enabling them to compete in the appropriate under-16 and under-19 leagues. This form provides us with vital information about the player and any medical information we might need to ensure they can play the sport safely.

Step 2

Register for BAFA Membership

Membership fees provide essential coverage for personal injuries incurred during games, as well as public liability insurance and league administration costs. We strongly advise all participants to consider obtaining their own personal injury insurance on top of what is already mandated by the league. Please note that the insurance coverage is effective from October to October each year.

To compete in BAFA events, registration fees must be submitted directly to the league. Registration and the payment of associated fees (set at £17.50 for the 2025 season) can be made via the following link: https://bafa.justgo.com.

For the registration process, you are required to upload an accepted form of identification. This could be a Passport, Birth Certificate, or Driving Licence, and the file size must be less than 2MB.

Additionally, a ‘passport style’ photograph of the player is necessary for the completion of registration.

Step 3

Pay club fees

Subscription fees for Swindon Storm cover a comprehensive range of necessities including the rental of training facilities, classroom sessions, all essential playing kit, storage and maintenance of equipment, access to BAFCA-trained coaching staff, acquisition of new equipment, BAFA referees, and pitch side medical cover throughout the year. For the year 2024, the membership fees are set at £180. This amount can be conveniently divided into 9 monthly installments of £20 each.

To facilitate easy payment, members have the option to pay via online banking or PayPal. The details for making payments are as follows:

Account Name: Swindon Storm American Football Club

Sort Code: 23-05-80

Account Number: 32999672

If paying via Paypal, please select Friends and Family or Storm will incur transaction costs.

Step 4

Register Club kit

At the beginning of the season, any members who have finished their club and BAFA registrations are eligible to borrow club gear for home use. This process requires registering the borrowed items through the provided link.

On distribution day, coaches and parent volunteers will be present to make sure all gear is registered correctly before players take it home. Should any borrowed item be damaged or faulty, players must report this to the coaches immediately to receive a replacement. Additionally, all borrowed gear must be maintained in a clean condition throughout the loan period.

If you have any items of club kit that you do not think have been registered, please use the link below to let us know.
